Tour description
Snorkeling and Horseback Riding is a perfect combination for those who want to experience a great outdoor day in Iceland. You’ll enjoy snorkeling in the freshwater fissure Silfra, which is known to be one of the best dive sites in the world. After the snorkeling tour, we will drive to Reykjavik for your horse riding tour. You will enjoy riding an Icelandic horse known for their five gaits.
This is a pure nature trip. You’ll be snorkeling in either wet- or drysuit all depending on your wishes. By wearing the wetsuit you will be able to dive underneath the surface of Silfra which allows for a more flexible experience whereas the dry suits keeps you dry and afloat. Silfra is situated at the UNESCO World Heritage site in Thingvellir National Park, where the earth drifts apart around 2 centimeters every year as the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates move in opposite directions – creating such natural wonders as is Silfra.
The horseback riding will take place on a beautiful path through the Icelandic countryside, where you’ll be paired with one of the hardy, sure-footed Icelandic horses. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, young or old, these friendly horses with their gentle yet spirited nature are a pleasure to ride. The ride lasts around two hours (or 1.5 hours in winter) and takes you through a scenic valley, across rivers, and up to stunning viewpoints like the Tröllafoss waterfall — a spot so magical, it’s said to be where trolls bathe under the full moon.
